 Oriental Rug Specialist / Salesman

Responsibilities:

• Sell custom, hand-knotted and machine made carpets, kilims and area rugs.
• Identify product differences between silk, synthetic, hand-woven, and machine-made products to avoid underpricing or overpricing during negotiating.
• Assess the value of rugs based on fringe details and rug symmetry, ensuring fair pricing.
• Provide customers with detailed care instructions, arrange delivery, and oversee in-home setup, ensuring a seamless customer experience.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience selling rugs, carpets and kilims or a close familiarity of the production process of such unique, large-format pieces.
• Being able to "talk the talk" with a potential customer, must possess the historical knowledge of each rug, reference base, and experience to obtain the trust and confidence of the buyer.
• Fluency in Turkish is a plus.
