I have been searching for a nice rug for our office at home, but I didn't want the typical modern style rug made of synthetic fibers. I came across Indigo Rugs while searching online and found a very nice collection of vintage hand loomed wool Turkish rugs. I purchased a beautiful Malatya Killim wool rug. The artistry in the making of this rug is simply stunning. The colors in person are rich and warm and the rug fits perfectly in our Southwestern style office. There is a story hidden in each one of these rugs; they are one of a kind and the feel that emanates from them is just wonderful. The description on the website is very accurate and the rug was in perfect condition. Savash is very friendly and my order was shipped very swiftly. I highly recommend this shop!

Savash was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and helped us purchase a beautiful antique rug for my study. Indigo rugs has a great, diverse collection of rugs and Savash guided us to finally get the rug we wanted. He also came home helped us cut the rug pad to the right size. Highly recommend Savash and Indigo carpets and we will be happy return customers!

Perfect for my powder room! Colors were even more beautiful in person. It was wrapped up beautifully with twine and a tag thanking me by name! I was so skeptical to buy from a Company I knew nothing about and that was across the country but I’m very pleased! Will continue to watch for more beautiful rugs from them!

We were looking for a high quality rug for our home and came across Indigo Rugs while out walking. It was exactly the shop I had been looking for! Many of the rugs are brought in from Turkey and handmade. Savash was super helpful and provided guidance on size, color and style and even offered to bring a few of our top pics to our house so we could see them in our space. He went above and beyond in terms of customer service. One of the rugs he brought to our home ended up being perfect in our space, and we couldn’t be happier. The rug makes it look like we’ve finally moved in!

Savash was super helpful in helping us find two persian rugs that we absolutely love. We visited in the afternoon and saw over a hundred rugs. He came over that evening with several rugs for us to see in our house, and we had picked two rugs that evening. He is really knowledgeable and friendly. Rug pads and cleaning also turned out great. Rugs are super high quality and prices are reasonable. Would shop with Savash and Indigo again.

While walking in downtown San Mateo, I stumbled upon Indigo Rugs. I was not in the market for a rug, but the owner, Savash, was so incredibly kind, polite and knowledgeable. It was clear we were not going to purchase a rug but they were so stunning and over the course of the visit Savash unfolded gorgeous rug after rug at my request. His knowledge of each rug, origin, year made and what vegetable dyes were used to make the rugs was impressive. I was amazed to learn the origin and that these rugs were all handmade and vintage, decades old yet appear new, thanks to his delicate care. I returned home and thought about the kilim for a week. Upon return, I purchased two gorgeous kilims (one for the floor and on other for a wall hanging). Each kilim is the star of the room. Savash went out of his way to hand deliver the carpets and carpet pad to our home for free including installation. Without hesitation, I would return and recommend this gem of a store in downtown San Mateo. Please visit, it is a treasure and the quality and service you receive as well as reasonable prices cannot compare to a box store or online. You need to see these rugs and hear the rich history behind each to truly appreciate the art and beauty.

The customer service is exceptional - they even helped me with same day delivery & installation. The showroom is as beautiful and clean as the rugs themselves. Colors are good but the rug doesn’t form a rectangle. The short ends are out of shape.
