Handwoven in the 1960s in the renowned Pirot weaving tradition of the Balkans, this vintage kilim reflects a heritage known for precision, balance, and symbolic design. The layout is structured and rhythmic, with repeating geometric floral and medallion motifs arranged in an orderly, almost textile-like grid that feels both decorative and composed. A classic Pirot border frames the field with finely articulated guard motifs, giving the rug a grounded, architectural finish. The design has a refined presence — detailed without feeling busy and expressive without overpowering a room.

The colors have gracefully faded over time, creating a soft, atmospheric palette that feels warm and lived-in. Natural abrash (subtle color variations) runs through the dusty coral field, adding depth and tonal movement that only age and hand-dyed wool can produce.

Flatwoven from handspun wool, the rug has a smooth, low profile that is durable and versatile. Its almost 5x8 size works beautifully in living rooms, bedrooms, studies, or layered spaces where understated pattern and vintage patina are desired.
