Handwoven in the Kars region of Eastern Turkey, this vintage kilim features strong horizontal bands filled with traditional tribal motifs and protective geometric symbols. The layout feels structured yet lively, with repeating emblem forms that create a steady visual rhythm across the surface. These motifs traditionally represent protection, balance, and continuity — giving the rug both graphic presence and cultural depth.

The palette is rich and earthy, combining deep espresso brown, charcoal black, warm ivory, muted rust, cinnamon, dusty plum, and touches of soft camel and antique gold. The alternating dark and light bands give the rug a balanced contrast that feels bold but still very livable. Subtle abrash and tonal variation from natural dyes add softness and dimension, preventing the pattern from feeling too rigid.
