Blue Kayseri Vintage Turkish Rug • Handmade Wool Carpet • 7x9 Traditional Floral Area Rug for Living Room, Bedroom, Dining & Study
✔ This vintage Turkish Kayseri rug has a finely detailed floral medallion design, with a deep blue field framing a soft ivory and pale gray central medallion. The drawing is delicate and layered, giving the rug a formal, elegant character without making it feel stiff.
The palette feels refined and slightly romantic — the rich blue field gives the rug depth, while the ivory, blush pink, soft gray, burgundy, beige, and pale blue details lighten the composition and keep the design graceful.
Hand-knotted in Turkey from hand-spun wool on a cotton foundation, the rug has a low pile and a closely detailed surface. The fine floral vines, shaped medallion, corner pieces, and layered borders reflect the careful decorative language associated with Kayseri weaving.
Woven in the 1970s, this rug has the presence of a classic vintage Turkish carpet, with enough color and detail to anchor a room beautifully. It feels traditional, elegant, and collected, but the softer pink and ivory details make the overall look lighter than a heavy formal rug.
At 6'5" × 9'9", this is a versatile size for living rooms, bedrooms, dining areas, nurseries, studies, sitting rooms, or collected interiors where a vintage rug can bring color, elegance, and handmade character.

WHY YOU NEED A RUG PAD
A quality rug pad can make a noticeable difference in how your handmade rug looks, feels, and lives with you over time. We recommend one under all rugs, especially flatweaves and low-pile rugs, which benefit from added support and cushioning.
Makes Your Rug Look Better
A quality rug pad helps your rug lie flatter and stay in place by reducing slipping, shifting, and bunching. The result is a cleaner, more polished look in the room.
Makes Your Rug Feel Better
The added layer beneath your rug provides extra cushioning, giving it a softer, more substantial feel underfoot and adding another layer of comfort and luxury.
Helps Protect Your Rug
Rug pads create a supportive layer beneath your handmade rug, helping distribute pressure more evenly—especially where furniture rests on it. This reduces stress on the foundation and knots, helping prevent wear and extend the life of your rug.
Helps Protect Your Floors
By creating a protective layer between the rug and the floor, a rug pad helps reduce scratching, scuffing, and everyday abrasion on hardwood, tile, and other flooring surfaces.
WHY YOU NEED OUR RUG PAD
A good rug pad should do its job without being seen.
Our low-profile rug pads are custom cut to fit the rug you’re purchasing, so they sit neatly underneath without extending beyond the edges. No measuring, trimming, or guesswork on your end—they arrive ready to use with your rug.
Indigo Rugs Premium Rug Pad:
- Approx. 0.2" thick for comfortable support
