✔ This handmade vintage cicim kilim from Turkey features an intricate all-over lattice of small diamond motifs created using the traditional cicim embroidery technique, where extra colored threads are wrapped over the flatwoven base to form raised, textured designs. The effect is beautifully detailed and almost tapestry-like, giving the rug depth and quiet visual movement rather than bold central medallions.
The palette is earthy and time-softened, built on a deep brown ground with accents of warm ivory, dusty rose, muted coral, slate blue, soft taupe, and gentle gray. The darker base allows the embroidered motifs to subtly stand out, creating dimension that shifts with light and adds warmth without overwhelming the room.
