The field is filled with evenly spaced, small  protective medallions that create a steady, almost meditative pattern across the surface. The warm madder-red field shows subtle tonal variation from natural dyes, giving the surface depth and life. It was woven in four separate narrow panels and later joined together — a traditional solution used by nomadic weavers working on small portable looms. Larger village or workshop looms weren’t available in migratory settings, so rugs were created in sections and carefully stitched into a single textile. These seams are not flaws, but part of the rug’s authentic story and heritage.

Handwoven entirely from wool, this 1940s Pirot kilim has a tight, durable flatweave with a smooth, low-profile feel. At 9'9" × 10'9", this piece has real presence—ideal for anchoring a living room, dining area, or bedroom with warmth, heritage, and strong graphic character.
