✔ Traditionally crafted by semi-nomadic artisans spanning the regions of Northwest Persia and Eastern Turkey, these exquisite rugs, known as Soumak, distinguish themselves from their Kilim counterparts. Their front displays a captivating design, while the reverse side bears an intricately woven construction, a testament to their handmade craftsmanship. The distinctive pattern they feature is referred to as Rahrah, and their production involves the use of special hooks and needles, lending them their distinctive character. These rugs proudly showcase a repertoire of distinctive geometric motifs, including central diamonds, crosses, eyes, and depictions of animals, all imbued with profound symbolism that reflects the nomadic way of life.
