Camel Brown Earthy Kars Vintage Rug • Handmade Wool Carpet • 4x8 Rustic Anatolian Village Runner Rug for Entry, Hallway, Bedroom, Kitchen & Study
✔ This rug carries a grounded village character, where bold tribal geometry meets warm Anatolian earth tones in a confident, balanced composition.
Handwoven by Kurdish weavers in the Kars region of eastern Turkey, this vintage village rug features a striking vertical sequence of stepped medallions framed by rhythmic floral rosettes along the border. The geometry feels strong and architectural, with crisp black outlines emphasizing each motif. A woven inscription reading 1981 appears in the field, marking the year of production — a beautiful detail that confirms its origin as a genuine village piece made for domestic use rather than export.
The palette is warm and earthy — golden camel brown field, stone gray medallions, charcoal-black outlines, warm ivory borders, cocoa and walnut browns, soft salmon-coral accents, dusty rose highlights, and touches of muted taupe. The colors feel naturally aged and harmonious, giving the rug a rich yet understated presence.
Hand-knotted from wool, the surface has the soft, slightly matte texture collectors love in authentic Anatolian village rugs. At 4'4" × 8'2", the long runner-like format works beautifully in hallways, kitchens, galleries, or narrow living spaces where a strong linear piece can guide the room while adding warmth and history.
