Woven entirely by hand using hand-spun wool, it features the traditional rose lattice design — rows of stylized blossoms arranged on a charcoal gray field, framed by a sequence of intricate tribal borders in madder red and walnut brown. Subtle notes of pale lilac and sand add dimension and movement to the composition.
Soumak rugs are celebrated for their distinctive flat texture, created by a complex reverse-weave technique that produces a raised, embroidered surface.
