Handwoven in Central Turkey in the 1940s, this vintage Konya kilim reflects the region’s practical village weaving tradition — expressive, textural, and grounded in everyday life.
The design is built from diagonal tribal bands animated by small embroidered cicim motifs that create subtle rhythm across the field. The composition feels organic and atmospheric: the dark ground establishes calm visual weight, while scattered tribal accents add life and motion without overwhelming the room.
The palette has mellowed beautifully over time into a deep, earthy spectrum — dark walnut brown, charcoal brown, faded brick red, muted sand, soft taupe, and aged ivory. Natural abrash (subtle color variation) throughout the field adds dimension and authenticity collectors love.
