 ✔ This Malatya kilim from Eastern Turkey, woven in the 1930s, is a remarkable example of early Anatolian village weaving. Crafted entirely from hand-spun wool on a wool foundation, it features alternating horizontal bands of geometric medallions and narrow stripes — a composition unique to the Malatya region. The motifs of diamonds and hooked forms symbolize unity, fertility, and protection.

Its palette of madder red, sun-faded mustard, indigo navy, ivory, and rose brown has mellowed into a beautifully aged harmony, enriched by the soft sheen of hand-spun wool.
