Handwoven on the west coast of Turkey in the 1960s, this vintage kilim reflects the relaxed village aesthetic associated with Aegean weaving regions such as Denizli — known for airy palettes, horizontal striping, and quietly expressive ornamentation. The design is built around horizontal bands of varying widths, some plain and others animated by small diamond and emblem motifs that create subtle movement across the surface. The composition feels both structured and easygoing: the stripes bring calm visual order, while scattered tribal accents add personality without overpowering the room.
The colors have mellowed beautifully over time into a soft, atmospheric palette — light sage, dusty rose, muted indigo, walnut brown, warm taupe, pale coral, aged mustard, and touches of soft ivory.
